Right verses Seems Right

There is a difference between the Right (Truth) and what Seems Right. The right answers always point to the truth.  And truth establishes a foundation that will stand the test of time.  Truth is what scientists pursue and seek so that they can write scientific laws.  For example, when Isaac Newton studied physics and how gravity works on earth and in space, he developed an equation that has proven to be consistent.   It is called Newton’s Universal Law of Gravitation Equation:

F = G (m1 x m2)/r^2

F = Force, G = Gravitational constant, m1 = mass of object 1, m2 = mass of object 2, r = distance between centers of the masses.

Newton’s law of universal gravitation says every particle attracts every other particle in the universe with a force that is proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%27s_law_of_universal_gravitation)

The point is that a scientist studied what existed and discovered what was right and true.  He didn’t create the truth based on his beliefs.  When he discovered how properties behaved, he tested it over and over and learned that it was consistent.  Then developed an equation to represent how the properties behaved.  In other words, it is a mathematically written explanation of what already exists.

The things that are right (truth) are not based on your belief.  Truth is Truth whether you believe it or not.  When a person says, “I just can’t believe there is a hell for punishment.  There are a lot of good people, and everyone makes innocent mistakes. We are all humans.”  Well, the truth is, there IS a hell, God did create it for Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41), and everyone who rejects Jesus Christ will end up going there.  I promise you, your beliefs WILL change if you end up at the Great White Throne of Judgement and Jesus commands you to be sent there!  (Revelation 20:11-15)

Out of curiosity, I looked up the word “seems” and here is what it means.  Seems is defined as used to make a statement or description of one’s thoughts and feelings.  So if something seems right, you are basically using your mind to break it down into pieces you understand.  The problem with that process is that humans have the habit of rejecting what they don’t understand.  They immediately label it as “This can’t be right because…it doesn’t make sense!”  You are making it fit into your own mind of reason boundaries.  The Bible cleanly guides us as to how we should learn.  Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart (spirit) and lean NOT to your own understanding.  In everything you do acknowledge Him (God) and He will direct your path.”  Notice that we are to trust God with our spirit not our own reasoning.  If there is something that we don’t understand, ask Him.  Tell the Lord, “God, I don’t understand this.  Please help me understand. If this is right (the truth), then I trust you.  But if it is not right (not the truth) then reveal it to me.  In either case, I trust You.”

I will end with this scripture. Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

Let me say it a different way, everything that you conjure up in your mind or rationalize seems like it is the right thing for…you! But the road you are on will lead to death and destruction.  Have you ever looked at the word rationalize?  Look at it this way, when you rationalize, you are telling yourself Rational-Lies! Seems Right = Rationalize.   Think about it!

Ask God for help.  Tell Him that you don’t want to conjure things up on your own.  You want to follow Him and His righteousness.  Jeremiah 33:3 “Call upon the name of the Lord and He will answer and show you great and mighty things.”

Be blessed!

  1. This is a truly POWERFUL AND PIVOTAL excerpt of PURE TRUTH ! This is the level of the type of words we need to hear that divides between the spirit and soul. Thank you Ron for the depth of knowledge and anointing you shared in this lesson! Definitely to be meditated on further for revelation!

  2. Rationalize vs Rational lies. Wow that’s pretty profound. I agree with you Minister Cobbs – go to the source of truth and allow the Holy Spirit to bring clarity to the areas we might not understand. Agree with Robin .. this teaching is needed.
